With over 28 years experience developing and producing award-winning content, and leading networks, Carole Tomko joined Vulcan Productions as General Manager and Creative Director in 2013 to strategically shape and develop projects across multiple genres and platforms with the goal of social change through a targeted call to action. Working closely with Vulcan Productions Founder Paul Allen and Vulcan Productions President Jody Allen, Tomko works to increase the output and scope of films, documentaries, series, digital content and social media.

Tomko has been recognized multiple times by CableFAX magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in Cable.

In 2012, she launched Carole Tomko Media, a strategic advisory company to guide businesses in all aspects of content and media creation as well as with operational and strategic planning.

As a President and General Manager of several networks at Discovery Communications, Tomko launched and rebranded networks including Discovery Health, FitTV, and Discovery Kids. As President and General Manager of the multi-platform Discovery Health Media business, she led Discovery Health and FitTV networks, DiscoveryHealth.com, Discovery Health CME (Continuing Medical Education) and the Discovery Health On-Call VOD service.

As President and General Manager of Discovery Studios, a full-service production studio, she created a unit that developed and produced the largest volume of short and long form content for the company. She led Talent Development and Casting, Branded Entertainment, the feature doc division, and Footage and Music services.

While President of MyDiscovery, she launched an innovation business unit focusing on developing new multimedia content for digital platforms beyond television. The first direct-to-consumer product, Ultimate Sharks was distinguished by Apple as "new and noteworthy" and "app of the week."

She has overseen award-winning franchises across the Discovery portfolio winning over a dozen awards for Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Health, and Discovery Kids. Tomko's prior Discovery experience also includes serving as executive vice president for Discovery Networks U.S. Production, where she oversaw over 3000 annual production hours for all the domestic networks.

Prior to joining Animal Planet, Tomko was director, development and programming for Time-Life Video & Television. She previously produced for an array of media and entertainment companies including Orion Pictures, Editel, and Westinghouse.

Tomko served on the board of The Hub television network, the children's network joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro. She has sat on the board for the Jackson Hole Film Festival and Institute.
